True Life In God Retreat In Meteora Greece

Welcome to our 100 New Subscribers!

In the past 45 days we have added almost 100 new subscribers to the Forum. We wish to thank all who participated in our subscription drive and offer a warm welcome to new readers. We will always include in each Forum a link to our main website for easy reference and access, where the majority of the “messages” are archived and available, along withmany other resources. In the entire history of the churchit is a rare and perhaps the only case wherea Divinely dictated revelation from God was written down for over18 consecutive years. We have accessthrough grace, to a body of writings never before seen in the history of the church on this scale. Was there ever a time in human history when it was needed more?

This huge body of writings called True Life in God are internally consistent and grow in their intensity of spiritual insight as the “pupil” herself (Vassula)grows. It is only natural and healthy that we wish to make this Divine Love Hymn to humanity known on a wider and wider scale. For this reason we are launching our next subscription drive!

The Winter 2004 TLIG Forum Subscription Drive!

In order to circulate the Forum to a larger audience and to informpeople of TLIG activities and news, we are offeringsome incentivesto the person who is able to obtain the most new subscriptions. Here is one comment of many Jesus makes about spreading the messages:

“…delight Me and praise Me! Flower, My own daughter of My Church, your Christ is indeed risen; come, I bless you and all those whom I have chosen to accompany you; they shall have their reward in the end; My Father and I bless those hearts and tell them: spread Our Messages, they save.” (May, 1996)

The TLIG Forum Remembers: Fr Michael O’Carroll CSSp

Fr Michael O’Carroll was Vassula’s counsellor (as the Lord called him) for almost nine years, retiring from travels with her at the beginning of 1997. The Lord foretold Vassula that she would have an elderly helper, and so it happened in Ireland, that Fr Michael heard Vassula for the first time and the work on supporting True Life in God started. Those of us in True Life in God who had the grace to meet Fr Michael when he was involved and valiantly fought for the Message of God to be accepted as truly coming from Him, cannot but feel gratitude for all he did to defend the Message. It would be impossible for me to recount what Fr Michael O’Carroll did over his long life. What I can try to do is to pay tribute to the man and priest I knew between the years of September 1994 and Spring of 1997 when I came into close contact with him because of my own involvement with the Lord’s Message.

I understand from Neasa Murray (Ireland) that at his funeral in Dublin, there was no mention of Fr Michael’s work with True Life in God. It was the same when I attended the funeral of Fr Rudolf, the wonderful Capuchin monk who took over the job Fr Michael was doing on the magazine in the UK. But we, the souls reading and responding to the Lord’s Call in True Life in God have a duty to pay tribute to the priest chosen by God to guard and defend this precious work of Heaven. His books in support and explanation of the Messages are well known and have helped many to appreciate the depth and scope of the Lord’s Call (notably: Vassula of the Sacred Heart’s Passion and Bearer of the Light – Vassula – Mediatrix of Divided Christians). For fuller list of many titles Fr Michael wrote, I refer you to Bibliography at the end of these books.

On 8 July 1996 Jesus says to Fr Michael and Vassula:

“never forget that I am in you and you in Me; share your difficulties, your race is not over; I have given you a noble work to both of you; … and to your counsellor whom I raised for My glory and for My motives, I have given you to him to be counselled: and I have given you to him that he may encourage you, console you, and look after you with care…”

In these caring words the Lord summarizes the relationship that existed between Fr Michael and Vassula. They were to work in union, supporting each other, and so they did often travelling for three weeks at a stretch with a punishing schedule many younger men would have found too difficult to sustain.

True Life In God Retreat In Meteora Greece
May 2nd – 7th, 2004

Meteora

Dear TLIG friends,

We are happy to announce to Forum readers and their friends who are most welcomed, that we will be doing a retreat with some site-seeing as well, in Greece at the Meteora. It will be also a unique opportunity to see those ancient monasteries literally hanging from the cliffs, where in the past, the monks sat in a basket to be pulled up or down to enter the monasteries. Meteora is from the biggest and most important group of monasteries in Greece after those in Mount Athos. We can locate the first traces of their history from 11th c. when the first hermits settled there. The rock monasteries have been characterized as a unique phenomenon of cultural heritage and they form one of the most important stationson the cultural map of Greece.

Before our departure to Meteora we will visit Acropolis, where St. Paul the Apostle preached to the Athenians and where the Pope and His Beatitude Christodoulos, Archbishop of Athens and Primate of Greece, visited during the historical visit of Pope Paul II in Greece in 2001.

On our way back to Athens we will stop at Thieves and visit St. Luke’s tomb. St. Luke is believed to have died in the Greek city of Thebes in about 150 A.D. at the age of 84. If times allows, we will also pray the rosary at St. Luke’s church.

We can only accommodate up to 100 people. So please if you feel you need a silent entourage in beautiful nature for mediation you are most welcome to join us. Most of the speakers will speak in English, but we would have as well French speakers and a translator for both those languages. Vassula will open the retreat with prayer and a word of welcome, participating as well in the retreat.

It will be our pleasure to see you in Greece!

In Christ,
TLIG Greek Association
