There is a growing relationship between TLIG French prayer groups and Théodore, a 26 year old Cameroonian, who was sentenced to imprisonment for 15 years and who is evangelizing his prison. Thanks to the TLIG messages, Théodore is transforming the prison into a monastery! Recently, Yannick, a volunteer active in the TLIG French Association, and editor of the French TLIG Newsletter, gave us further news from Georges who is evangelizing in Cameroon as well.

Yannick reports: After a very long and dangerous trip through the Cameroon, Georges established a connection with Theodore and the TLIG group inside the Tcholliré’s prison. Now, these prisoners know that they are not alone and the TLIG family is outside the prison as well.. All the pain of this travel was forgotten by the joy of this meeting in the middle of the night!

Georges writes:, “Glory be to the One who is in Heaven: We understand that God wants to achieve great things in Cameroon and He starts with the least of the society, with the rejected of the society, the prisoners.”

In Yaoundé, there are 220 active people in the TLIG vineyard. In Mokolo, 30 people are praying each Wednesday and Saturday. In Mbankolo, 15 people and in Etoudi, 25 people are gathering on the same days. In the main prison of Yaoundé, 150 people have formed small groups in the various corners of the prison and they pray each morning and each evening. Each Sunday all groups are gathering together around the priest of the prison. They feel supported in their misery by the communion of heart, of prayers and of thoughts with TLIG France. Since the beginning, Georges entered the prison without authorization, praised be the Lord! But now, authorization for evangelization work has to be requested from the under-prefect and the public prosecutor.

Georges says, “We are all united by the love of God which fills our hearts. We visit each other; we pray for each other; we share the same joy and the same pain, and we put all in common. We share the food and the resources; we live the perfect Love in the Lord giving mutual respect as well as mutual assistance.

We have great plans for 2005! Our objective is 100 prayer groups in the town of Yaoundé, each with 20 active members and from these prayer groups much evangelization work. We hope that with the assistance of the Holy Spirit, the message of Love and Peace of TLIG can be extended to the whole province and to the whole country. We plan to send active workers to other parts, of the country: Douala, Bafoussam and other towns.

We especially want to help the sick, the orphans, the widows, the abandoned children, the street children, the prisoners and all others. They are the people most open to TLIG. Two Sundays per month, we go from door to door to speak about TLIG to the people who want to listen. We need means to go far, so please help us! We pray that we will soon be able to speak on the radio about evangelization and TLIG prayer meetings.

In the main prison we have a special grace, as we are able to share the TLIG books which we receive from the French association without having to ask for permission. The prisoners are so happy about this support and say that once they are out of the prison they will fully dedicate themselves to the TLIG ministry. Others promise to meet with bandits and robbers of the country to convert them to God.

There is a new group in Ngaoundéré led by a young student, Emmanuelle. Théodore in his prison in Tcholliré confirms that there are more and more TLIG readers in his prison. They pray day and night and they need great support as they are really in the bush. Many greetings and blessings to all of you from prisoners, TLIG apostolate in Cameroon!”
