TLIG prayer groups

This mailing contains three items concerning prayer groups. The first concerns Vassula’s desire for a worldwide directory of TLIG prayer groups. In particular, it is a request for all those who are members of a TLIG prayer group IN THE UNITED STATES ONLY, to please reply to this email.

The second item is a report from Fr. Gratian in Kerala, South India, about a flourishing TLIG prayer group there.

After the second visit of Vassula to Kerala which was in November 1999, we started a prayer group, according to her desire, in Pala in the same house in which Vassula stayed during her visit. We had our first prayer meeting on the last Sunday of December. We gathered together in the same prayer room in which Vassula had her daily Eucharist, and had an hour of adoration before the Blessed Sacrament on 28th Nov. on the 14th anniversary of her conversion, and beginning her conversations with the Lord.

Thereafter we gather together in this same house on the last Sunday of every month from 2.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. Professor C.J. John who hosted Vassula for all the 10 days of her ministry in Kerala visited, with his wife Salila, all the neighboring families, Christian and non-Christian, and invited them to the prayer meeting. Some came out of good will, and a few out of curiosity.

>From January onwards an average of 70 persons have been attending every month. After 3 months, we felt the need to have a small core-group of 5 or 6 persons who would gather together regularly every week in this same house to pray together and share and to grow in love and unity. So 5 of us gather on every Friday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and pray and intercede for the whole world.

On the day of the monthly meeting on the last Sunday – 8 of us, have our preparatory prayer, one hour before the common meeting. In the month of May, during our core-group meeting (which was held in the same room in which Vassula spent her nights), as we started the Rosary, all of us experienced a strong fragrance of indescribable sweetness, which filled the room, and lasted for the whole hour of prayer. Three of us were moved to tears at the experience of this sweet odor. And one had a vision of Vassula sitting on an arm chair and Jesus coming and putting one arm on her shoulder while the other arm was placed on his own heart. Next, she saw Vassula placing her hand on Jesus’ shoulder, while her other arm was held in an attitude of begging. The third scene was of Jesus, Mary and Vassula standing together.

A gradual progress is being noticed in the prayer-group. In the last gathering (in July) there were about 90 persons, including members from 3 Hindu families. In this meeting there were a few testimonies of healing, as well as that of a couple who had been childless for the past nine years, having obtained a child now through prayer and participation in the monthly prayer-meeting.

We earnestly request the prayers of Vassula and all TLIG members. Fr. Gratian O.F.M. Cap.

Finally, Jen Mei Dorris sends a request from her TLIG prayer group in Northwest Indiana, US. As a birthday gift for Our Blessed Mother, they are offering a three-day fast–September 6, 7, and 8–for an end to abortion. They ask the support in prayer of the extended True Life in God family, and invite everyone to join them, if possible, in offering a fast for this intention.
