A Resurrection Breath for Ireland
This report of two recent TLIG meetings in Ireland is from Anne Marie Sands: A Resurrection Breath for Ireland
May – July 2003 Having recently returned to Dublin after four years in Israel, an
e-mail arrived to say that books were needed for a sister in Jerusalem (the sister to
whom Jesus refers in His message of 24.4.97). While telephoning to find some TLIG books
here, it was a real surprise to discover that Carol Chamberlain was due in Dublin to
witness for TLIG the following weekend! Using the little time there was it was good to
be able to contact a few people who were free to come along. It was wonderful to see
Carol again, arriving with her energy and Scottish sense of humour! Sadly, the numbers
at both meetings were low. However, we remembered Carol saying in Nazareth, how she once
had a very small meeting from which there was much fruit… Holding that thought, we
listened and experienced two uplifting talks. The beginning of TLIG in Bangladesh, the
themes of: Love, Repentance and Unity in the TLIG message were presented, along with
God’s will, the Holy Spirit, the Second Pentecost and the Triumph. Especially moving was
hearing that we are all: ?sons and daughters of the Resurrection’ and that God wants to
deify us all, to divinize us. He wants us to rule with Him, it’s the reason that He
created us… He created us in His own image, to love Him. Carol shared with us some of
the latest messages from Vol 12 which no one here had as yet seen. In Vol. 12 Christ is
telling us that we’re so much in debt to sin that we’re not allowing the Holy Spirit to
invade us in the way He desires to. We have to confess and we have to repent…we have to
go through a true Metanoia – a deep deep repentance. As Jesus says, Come to Me with
tears in your eyes and from your heart truly cry out your sins…. Then we heard this
message from Vol.12: “it is also written that after sin I will grant repentance; I have
in My great benevolence placed the salutary remedy of repentance into a renewed heart
that will show Me great fervour and truthfulness while repenting; indeed, everyone finds
the treasure of intimacy with Me as soon as this humble act is done; in the treasure of
intimacy they discover My friendship; each word uttered in truthfulness draws My
friendship closer, for My friendship ensues in proportion to his repentance; ” We
listened to the first few pages of the message of 13.9.02, where we heard that to know
God and understand Him only on the basis of Scriptures is not enough; one has to
penetrate into God to be able to understand and know God; this is what we call ?to taste
God’ … people sat and were spellbound by the words of this Ode from Heaven…… Much
was covered in the two meetings. After the talks people asked to be included in the book
order for the latest volume. Both meetings had a Q & A session at the end which
really engaged people. People wanted books and were interested in ordering the TLIG
magazine. Following the meetings the few active TLIG people here sat down to look at
where TLIG is at here, considering the low turnout. We felt that Carol’s visit was a
?Wake Up Call’! A new beginning… a time to evaluate what’s needed now for TLIG in
Ireland … a Resurrection breath! So a preliminary action plan was agreed on to try to
keep things alive here…. Carol’s southside meeting brought together people who had
been out of touch for some time. A Dominican sister came along with a friend and
re-connected with TLIG after a long time……….. she spontaneously suggested we start
a new prayer group at her convent as the other southside group had ceased to be. This
was truly an open door out of the blue… Jesus is full of surprises! We followed up on
the meetings with book orders and the new prayer meeting. We decided to also hold a
video evening once a month at our new venue in order to keep things alive and to invite
new people. The first one was really blessed with success. Some people who had not
heard news of TLIG for years came along and were happy to listen to Vassula speak in New
York at Fr Nicolau’ Church. Many of the sister
s also attended and heard about the messages for the first time. People were eager to
have TLIG books and CD’s. We felt again the Resurrection breath blowing strongly on all
of us! In mid June, when planning our next video evening in early July, we were
surprised to hear that Fr. “X” would be coming to Ireland on a private visit at that
time. He would be here for a week and would give talks if invited to do so. While time
was very tight, we felt it would be a real chance to progress TLIG here – also, we
remembered Jesus saying : “My pace is fast….” So, asking Jesus to guide and help us, we
set out to explore the possibility of a meeting to follow up on those seeds planted by
Carol’s visit here. We remembered Jesus’ words: “Do your best and I will do the
rest……” And as we were just two people on the southside team we were trusting Him
with everything!!! And from the first steps we took to try to organize we felt so
supported and inspired with everything falling so smoothly into place. First we needed a
venue -the Dominicans were happy to allow us have their College concert hall when they
heard Fr. “X” was coming, especially when they learned that he was the priest whom
Vassula approached at the start of her mission in Bangladesh. As three meditated Rosary
sessions with Benediction were arranged by the northside team, on the southside we
thought to try and reach those who might never have heard of the messages and who might
not go to Church…. We felt to: “go and announce My Message even in every public square;
go and widely publicize My Merciful call”( 25.5.95) Next up was advertising – and to be
very honest the flyers for the meeting were designed by Heaven! We were working full
time at our regular jobs and so had very limited time to prepare all that was needed. We
instantly found a quote by Fr. “X”: “Jesus has entrusted her with a message for our
time” and were led to the words from the messages: Tell them that: “The God they have
forgotten has never forgotten them” Along with the image of Jesus’ face from the message
books and a few words about Vassula the flyer was complete! We went straight to the
local newspapers with the disc just making their deadline! We decided to place a quarter
page advert in there amid the ever increasing adverts for Tarot Card Readings/ Psychics/
Crystal healers/ New Age Seminars etc. This reminded us of the end of the message
(1.6.02) in Vol 12: “people in your days are in search of false gods, following all sorts
of paganistic systems………” We ran all over then in the area of the meeting:
displaying flyers in shops, post offices, internet cafes, regular cafes, laundrettes,
florists etc as we wanted to reach people wherever they were. We dropped flyers in all
the houses near the venue and gave out flyers to everyone we met along the way. People
liked to stop and talk and we gave out some books en route, all the time feeling such a
sense of peace and joy as Jesus led these people across our path. And, being Ireland, we
were even blessed with the weather! It was warm and sunny when we were out on the
street. Flyers were put up in A few Churches too. We invited/gave out books to
Protestants, Orthodox, Catholics, Hindus, Muslims and many more who may have believed in
something or nothing! Ireland has changed a lot in the past 4 years – there is now such a
multicultural diversity, that we met people from every continent on our way. We have to
get organized now in that regard, and have TLIG books in many languages! We prepared
the hall for the talk with a large wall display, including there the pages with flags of
Vassula’s Worldwide Meetings/ the International Bibliography along with books by
theologians/ pages about the worldwide Beth Myriams/ testimonies by clergy of various
denominations/ a photomontage area with Vassula at many of her International meetings
including those in the Holy Land and more recently Egypt. People spent time at the
displays before and after the talk. About 130 peo
ple came, most of whom were new people hearing of TLIG for the first time. Some others
attending told us they’d not heard anything of TLIG for years and assumed it had ?fizzled
out’ ! Two young women attended, one lipreading and translating in sign language for her
friend. This led us to wonder about the availability of TLIG meeting transcripts/TLIG
videos with subtitles etc…. A young Indian man who first heard about Vassula in India
came to listen – he didn’t know much about her nor had he read the messages… he saw
the flyer in a shop window! Fr. “X” spoke giving powerful witness to the early dawn of
TLIG. It was a blessing and a privilege to hear first hand from one who was there in the
beginning. He humbly spoke of his initial reaction to the messages which was quite
negative. He also explained that he only took the trouble to study Vassula’s writings in
order to discover errors and convince her to stop. He went on to tell us of his gradual
realization that Vassula could not possibly be the source of the wisdom found in these
writings and his subsequent belief in the authenticity of the messages. He said “I am
here to speak tonight because I know about this message and I know about it’s importance.
It is God’s Love Hymn to humanity – to each one of us. The God we have forgotten has
never forgotten us. He loved creating us and He still loves us and He wants to bring us
to perfection.” All the main themes of TLIG were touched on: Church Unity, Russia, date
of Easter, Peace, Love, Humility, the Holy Trinity, the Holy Spirit, Second Pentecost,
Prayer from the heart, Knowledge of God, Intimacy, Fear of the Lord, Presence of God – We,
us. – the new heavens and the new earth, the new Adam, the new Eve… all themes were
supported with quotes from the messages. People sat spellbound listening to the messages
throughout the talk. To conclude, Fr. “X” read from the message of March 8 1987,
reminding us to replace Vassula’s name with our own as we listen…….. “I want to
remind you that the Revelations I am breathing in you are not just for your own benefit;
they are meant for others too who are in desperate need of My Bread. I come to feed all
of you who are hungry. My message is one of Peace and Love, and to remind you of your
foundations and who created you. I come to tell you that My Body is My Church, YES! My
Church which fills the whole creation. I come to show this world My Mercy. You, Vassula,
were one AMong those multitudes who wounded Me, who never responded to My Love,
embittering Me. What is more embittering than receiving no response to a Love so thirsty
and so great as Mine? Instead, in your wilderness you sought after daily material
pleasures, symbolizing them as gods, idolizing them, alienating yourself even further
from Me, embittering Me and wounding My Heart: a Heart of a living God, so unsought and
so unloved by you, a God completley forgotten. Daughter, was I that far away from You?
Come and feel My Heart. My Heart is crying out for you all. My sons, My daughters,
come…come nearer to Me; turn to Me; allow Me to hold you; let Me thrust you deep inside
My Heart; and let It engulf you, giving you profound Peace. Come and enter My Spiritual
World of Peace and Love. Come to Me and eat from My Body, for My Bread is pure and will
purify you. My Body cries out for you! Come and see Me, I, who spend day and night at
the Tabernacle, waiting for you to feed you. do not dread or fear Me; do not disown Me.
Why refuse Me a place in your heart? Come and get to know Me and you will love Me, for
how could you love someone you do not know or know only imperfectly? Endeavour to know Me
well, and you will love Me fervently. Vassula, you had gone astray and thus detached
yourself from Me; you turned away from the truth, transforming good into evil and being
attached more to evil rather than good. Come then, all those who still are evading Me
and bring forth your sins, that I may pardon them. Come and eat from Me; come and empty
your hearts to
Me, and let Me fill tehm up with Love. I know you are weak, but allow Me to act in all
of you. Give Me your consent beloved ones. Let Me uproot all your iniquities, casting
them away, and sow in you My seed of Peace and Love. Let Me purify you. Vassula, do no
more; I will continue later on. Do not forget My Presence; remember, always: us,we.
“(8.3.87) The meeting then concluded very nicely with everyone present praying the
Consecration to the Two Hearts. Fr. “X” explained that this Consecration reveals the
bigger aspects, the universal aspects of this message. Fr Des O’Sullivan CSSp, who
attended the TLIG Pilgrimage in the Holy Land in 2000, came to listen as did Brother
Aloysius of Blackrock College. Fr Michael O’Carroll was unable to come due to ill health,
we remember him especially in our prayers these days. Most of the Dominican sisters who
were free also attended. We made a simple videotape of the talk so that Fr Fannan’s
words can go on echoing here and not be lost. Many people who were on holiday have asked
for copies and we are busy distributing them. The many books, videos, CD’s and magazines
we had ordered were eagerly sought after the talk and not many were left. We gathered as
many names and phone numbers as we could to follow up on the new people who came. People
were interested to hear about the video evenings and the prayer meetings. Many stayed on
to talk after the meeting and it took quite a while for the hall to empty. Fr. “X”
led meditated Rosary (the Mysteries of Light) with Benediction for three groups on the
northside and shared the True Life in God message there. He also travelled to Cork to
meet with a group. Those who came to listen found the meetings inspiring and uplifting.
Fr. “X”‘s visit allowed the Resurrection breath, which came from Heaven through Carol’s
visit here, to reach many more new people and others who had lost touch with TLIG over
the last years. Now we need to follow up on the meeting – like Vassula said in Jerusalem,
a meeting is a beginning, the seeds are planted and it’s up to us then to try to keep
things alive. We’re continuing with our video evenings as people are hungry to know more
and we’re happy to have new people coming to TLIG video evenings and our new prayer
group. In September we hope to begin an advertising project in local newspapers to
introduce and transmit the TLIG message/Vassula’s mission to a wider audience. Glory be
to God for these two special visits. We hope and pray that this new beginning will allow
the True Life in God message to spread in Ireland and that Jesus will raise some new
