It seems worthwhile to mention again that these mailings about Orthodoxy are intended merely to help Catholics who want to become more familiar with Orthodox belief and practice.

  1. Introducing the Orthodox Church. ISBN 0-937032-25-5.

Excellent summary of what the Orthodox believe and practice.

  1. The Orthodox Church, A Well Kept Secret. Author: Fr. George Nicozisin. ISBN: 188097133X

An excellent review for the lay person of Church history and how Orthodoxy compares with the other Christian denominations.

  1. Dancing Alone – The Quest for Orthodox faith in the Age of False Religions. ISBN 0-917651-36-7

Excellent review of the issues about our faith and how Orthodoxy vs. other denominations view certain theological issues.

  1. The Orthodox Church. ISBN 0-14-013529-4. Good -though verbose- history of the Church and main tenants of Orthodox faith.

A Companion to the Greek Orthodox Church. Library of Congress Number 84-081261. Dictionary of Orthodox ecclesiastical terms, from their Greek names.

  1. The Truth. ISBN 0-9649141-8-2.

Excellent -but scholarly, and low in spirituality- review of differences of the Orthodox with the Roman Catholic Church.

  1. Common Ground. ISBN 0-937032-81-6.

Most excellent -but scholarly and at times high minded review and comparison of Orthodoxy to other denominations. At times not searching for the “common ground”, but looking for the differences.

  1. A Light From The East. ISBN 1-57918-062-0

A review of the Patriarchs of Constantinople by a Roman Catholic Priest who for a time was the spiritual father to Vassula, and that is something!

  1. Orthodoxy. ISBN 0-89870-552-5.

An Anglican man’s memoirs of his journey to Orthodoxy.
