Lausanne report
17 April 1999 17:10
Here is a brief report from Lucien Lombard on Vassula’s meeting on Thursday in Lausanne, Switzerland.
On April 15, 1999 at 7:30PM, during a heavy snow storm, Vassula was in Lausanne, in the municipal school center hall of Vennes, where about 1000 people attended her meeting. The former apostolic nuncio, Mgr Archbishop Luigi Accogli, came from Rome with Vassula and was present, as well as Sister Martha O’Delli. We had another surprise: a second Archbishop came from Lyon, France – Mgr Zacharian, of the Armenian Church and living in Lyon. So, two archbishops were seated there side by side, one Catholic and the other Orthodox.
The meeting started with a witnessing by Niels Christian Hvidt on his interview with Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger on March 16, 1998, regarding Prophecy in the Church.
After the Our Father in Aramaic and a decade of the rosary in English, Vassula witnessed (in French) on the Love of the Father – Abba -, intimacy with God, constant prayer, consecration to our Holy Mother and abandonment to Her, the Holy Spirit, the New Pentecost, Unity in the Church.
After Vassula’s address, the assembly was told that a Mass would be celebrated, at the request of Mgr Luigi Accogli. While a young girl lead the Rosary, an altar was installed on the podium and prepared for the Holy Mass.
It was the first time that a Mass could be celebrated in Lausanne during a TLIG meeting. Two priests concelebrated with Mgr Luigi Accogli, who had come with his archbishop’s mitre. So, yesterday evening, the Lausanne assembly amazingly had a solemn pontifical Mass with an archbishop. It was just incredible!
Early on Saturday morning, April 17, Vassula, Mgr Luigi Accogli and Sister Martha O’Delli will fly to Lebanon for their meeting in Beirut on the same Saturday night, and in Hamra on Sunday.
