Now listen to Me and write these words: establish Our Beth Myriams everywhere you can. Lift the oppressed and help the orphan. Protect Me, rescue Me from the gutter, shelter Me and feed Me. Unload My burden and fatigue; support Me and encourage Me. All that you do to the least of My brethren you do it to Me… I bless the supporters of My life. May they remain virtuous and all-loving. I am with you. IC   Message of March 27, 2002

Recently,  the Beth Myriam in Tokyo served food to about 100 people at a community hall. As usual they cooked Hayashi rice (hushed pork and rice) and the people love it very much. The recipients are mostly men who don’t have steady jobs and are living in parks and the streets of the Shinjuku or Shibuya area in Tokyo.

“For I was hungry and you gave me food; I was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you made me welcome; naked and you clothed me, sick and you visited me, in prison and you came to see me … I tell you solemnly, in so far as you did this to one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did it to me” (Mt 25:35-40)
