On July 9, 2013 the Beth Myriam of Tokyo decided to do an outdoor activity. Due to the hot weather, the volunteers of the Beth Myriam gave food to the homeless, poor and needy people in a small park which is located close to the Beth Myriam. About 90-95 people came around for food. Some of the homeless people asked for a refill of food. Here is what one of the volunteers from the Beth Myriam shared with us. He said: “I made a comment to one of those who asked for a second helping of food by saying “This is a big portion: you must have a good appetite!” but what he answered moved me to tears. He said: “Of course I can eat without stopping, since I haven’t eaten for three days”.”
