It is God’s Will

This testimony from Australia will the last forum mailing for a short period of time.

I am no writer! I have been trained as a research scientist with a keen sense of observation and like the typical scientist I am a doubting Thomas, until I get all the facts and myself can see.

When Vassula came to Australia the first time (1989) I was keen to her speak. Despite great obstacles to get to the church and once I got there in Doncaster Victoria, I ended up in one of the backrooms, without hearing her speak at all! That’s God’s will. I ended up, with the permission of the priest, in the left room in order to feed my little down-syndrome boy. With me was my Armenian friend, Jackie Beljack who had grown up in Egypt. To both of our surprise who walks into our room and closes the door, but Vassula Ryden herself!

Jackie started to talk about Egypt and the schools they went to in Egypt. I stood a foot away from Vassula. What happened next I cannot ever forget. My friend Jackie then started talking about the death of her mother in a car accident when Jackie had been the driver. As Jackie talked about her distress Vassula’s face changed completely. It was full of suffering. It was bruised and swollen in places. Vassula had aged to 80 years. I tried to stop Jackie from talking about the accident but to no avail. Vassula continued suffering and all she could say it is God’s Will, it is God’s Will, it is God’s Will. I estimate that I must have seen this suffering face on Vassula for about 10 minutes. Then the door was opened and several Croatian women came in the room and Vassula’s face returned to her normal face. She just asked the Croatians to pray for her and we left.

I was deeply puzzled about all this for a long time. I asked Jackie how could she talk on about the accident when clearly Vassula’s face had changed to one of utter brutal suffering. To my great astonishment Jackie had not seen any of this. But she felt that as she was relating her story a great – great cross-had been lifted off her shoulders. After such great suffering Jackie had come to life again.

When Vassula came to Australia the second time in Kew – Victoria they were filming her. Not to disturb the filming and others there, I took my down-syndrome boy to the back and through a window I could hear and see Vassula talking. This time for short periods I saw not Vassula’s face but Jesus’ face with a little golden beard, and I felt I had been transported to long ago to the Sermon on the Mount. The beauty and serenity of the face, the closest I’ve seen to it is the photograph taken by Sister Ali in Rome. The words I heard were full of wisdom, love and hope and they and the books have so much helped in my conversion and journey in this bitter valley of tears.

In the first book, God’s words were so passionate, as one priest criticized to me, but with a pure outlook these words meant to me that God was yearning for intimacy. Before reading the books God was to me some distant King who you ask for help in times of need and so separated from me by sky and galaxies. Now I know He is my Daddy, upon whose knees I can climb upon and give Him a hug. It is only through « True Life in God » that I learnt this.

Also through Vassula’s talks I understood more that God wants to be part of our everyday life and when we go anywhere I try to make room for Daddy too. My relationship with God has changed dramatically through « True Life in God » revelations. Thank you Vassula, for suffering for us to bring to us such profound, powerful messages from God.

This Love Hymn from Heaven has helped myself and many that I know to come closer to God, to accept and live in God’s Will. May God’s Will be done!
