Kicking and screaming
The following letter has been taken from the discussion list. It is part of a response to a thread discussing some doubts about the authenticity of the TLIG messages. The writer has apologised for the anger she felt in writing it but maybe this is an example of holy anger?
I simply think it is premature to use the Church’s judgements to reach a conclusion at this stage. Joan of Arc was condemned as a heretic and burned at the stake and it wasn’t until years afterwards that the Catholic Church canonized her a saint. The fruits of TLIG are obvious and I find it ironic that the hierarchy of the Catholic Church lets the real heretics in the church off scot-free and even assigns them positons of influence. The true shepherds in the Church are constantly getting a whipping.
Now the fact that Jesus doesn’t mince his words in Vassula’s messages about these idle shepherds but unmasks heresy for what it is – would that be any reason why bishops etc reject them? It wasn’t any priest or any Catholic that made me return « kicking and screaming » back to the Catholic Church and the Sacraments. It was a Greek Orthodox named Vassula.
Satan had me just where he wanted me so why would he turn against himself writing messages that support the Church, convince people beyond doubt that God exsists and that He loves them and help them to stay loyal to the church when it would be so much easier to walk away? It doesn’t make sense.
The Church cannot reach its final opinion until the whole chapter of Vassula’s life on earth is concluded. We all suffer from doubt and periods of crisis in our life about how God works. But you can’t take away the testimony that TLIG messages have saved many from spiritual despair and death and is working towards reunification of Christ’s body – the Church.
