Isaiah 12:4 “Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted.”

On January 19th, 2025, the Greek TLIG team organized a witnessing event in Athens, Greece. The title of the presentation was: “Begin the Year with a Message of Hope”.
Our witness was Mrs. Irene Zoppa, who is our main TLIG Messages translator, translating from English into Greek. The witnessing event took place at “The Athens Gate Hotel” in the beautiful area of Plaka, in Athens, renowned for its winding old-town alleys and picturesque architecture.

To prepare for this witnessing event, we formed a team, and each person had a task. Sofia prepared the invitations and the poster, while Thalia and I did the legwork, placing the invitation posters in central spots, especially those near the venue. We also distributed the invitations along with the HIR book to random people in the city of Athens. Moreover, we were also responsible for arranging the flower decoration at the venue and bringing a few copies of Vassula’s paintings to the event. Evangelia, together with her son Thanassis, carried books from our warehouse to the hotel, and along with Efi and Sofia, prepared the display table where the books would be laid out. On the display table we also placed a box for people to give donations for the books. Included alongside the display, there was also a cashier for the sale of Vassula’s paintings, which provides the monetary funds for our Beth Myriams. We printed invitations and posters, and ensured very good advertising on our social media (TLIG Greece Newsletter and TLIG Prayer groups list, TLIG Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and TLIG Radio). Everyone contributed to the success of this testimony; not only those who were in the organizing committee or those who took care of the social media, but all the members of TLIG Greece, by informing friends and acquaintances, and some even more than that. Praise to God!

We all knew that this event would be a success because the day before the witnessing the devil tried to cancel it. The manager of the hotel where we had originally booked the event informed Theodora that a water pipe in an adjacent building had broken and their venue was filled with water. They had to cancel our event. Theodora, without losing hope, asked the Greek TLIG community for prayers, and in less than an hour and by the grace of our Lord, she found a nearby hotel (a four-minute walk from our original hotel) that could host our meeting. Praise God! All the social media that had promoted our event sent out a new announcement, and all the people who had invited friends and relatives were also informed of this change in venue. We also arranged for someone to be present at the initial hotel to guide people to the new venue, in case they had not heard about this change.

Thalia Argyriou introduced Eirini Zoppa to the audience and said a few words about Vassula, her mission, and the TLIG Messages. Irene Zoppa began her testimony by informing the audience about how she met Vassula, and how she became the translator of the TLIG Messages in Greece, even though English was not the language she felt she knew best. Irene studied archaeology and art history in France. Nonetheless, God led her, step-by-step, towards the manner in which she would translate the TLIG Messages. In order to have an accurate and correct theological meaning of the words Our Lord uses in the TLIG Messages, Irene explained that God led her to check the Greek Bible and see how some meanings are laid out. Vassula always said that the Greek translation is one of the best.

After laying out her introduction and background, Irene talked about the TLIG Messages: what our Lord is saying for our times. First and foremost, the TLIG Messages tell us about the importance of having an intimate relationship with God. Secondly, as expressed in the TLIG Messages by our Lord, we read about the need to reconcile with our family, friends and community. Irene spoke about the importance of repentance and obtaining a change of heart; to grow in love, as Jesus has shown us through His Love for God the Father. She concluded her speech by discussing the need for unity among the Christian Churches; our Lord suffers from our division. Our division is weakening the Body of Christ. The event ended with a video showing Vassula’s mission throughout the years! It was a beautiful video that captured everyone’s attention. Those who had just learnt about Vassula were impressed; those who had known her were deeply touched. After the talk’s ending, Thalia presented information about the Beth Myriams, which are the good works/fruit of those who read the TLIG Messages.

We praise our Lord that we had about 50 people present, including 17 newcomers who heard about the TLIG messages for the first time and wanted to fill-out the form we gave them, asking if they would like to attend other meetings. We know that the key to keeping the newcomers is good follow-up, which we plan to do. In addition to the people who were there, we had some people follow the event live on Facebook, as we did a live broadcast with our Facebook followers.

Our evening was concluded with a cold drink or coffee at the roof garden/restaurant of the hotel, where we enjoyed a beautiful night view of Athens and the Acropolis. We discussed our event and thanked Irene Zoppa for agreeing to witness. She intimately shared with us some details of her early days with Vassula, as well as the impact the TLIG Messages had on her life and on her family. Now that everything had turned out well, we could relax and experience the joy of being together, praising our Lord for the success of this event. We pray that the Lord will always bless everyone who attended with such opportunities: to serve God with joy, harmony and dedication for His Glory. We thanked Jesus for this wonderful day, and pray He will give us many more opportunities to Serve Him.
