TLIG in Puerto Rico

When Vassula visited Puerto Rico in November 2001 she stated she would like that a Meeting of Latin American followers of TLIG be organized in a year and a half. The Puerto Rico TLIG group thought that she would forget about this and they did not worry. Nevertheless, Vassula did not forget it, surely because it was the desire of our Lord, and as they told us, she did not lose any occasion to remind Puerto Rico that they should proceed with the organization of the Meeting.

Regretfully TLIG has been very restrained in Latin America. Our possibilities to travel are limiteddue to the tightness of our economy. Henceour TLIG brothers of North America, Central America and Caribbean were majority number attending to this, so wanted by our Lord. What a pity! Where were the TLIG members of Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Peru and Ecuador?

Mexico was present with a great delegation, also USA, Panama, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Venezuela, Uruguay, Spain and the Puerto Rican organizers, there were also delegates from Great Britain, Switzerland, Germany and of course Vassula accompanied by Carol Chamberlain, who would follow the Latin American trip visiting afterwards Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay.

I personally felt from the beginning that this Meeting was the start of a new step of TLIG in Latin America, that is why I made the «craziness» to travel to Puerto Rico.I wanted to witness the transformation and fruits of TLIG when I was responsible of the organization and translation of the conferences that Vassula would give in Montevideo on May 21, 2003 and then I should accompany her to keep translating in Buenos Aires and Paraguay.

But our Lord loves that we be «crazy» of love for Him and He arranged everything perfectly to demonstrate that the trip to Puerto Rico was His Will. The money for the ticket appeared thanks to my good son in-law and God arranged everything so that the TLIG group in Montevideo worked perfectly in the organization with no need of me and all worked marvelous!!! Of course there were two victim souls that opened roads, doors and windows with their suffering and prayers. The enemy also did what he pleased and waited for my Saturday arrival at Puerto Rico, day before which I had to give my witness publicly, to strongly attack me with a lot of doubts and remorse for leaving Uruguay. What a bad moment he gave me!

As usual, the victory was for the Lord! In that Meeting the TLIGattendees got to know each othermore intimately. We became closer and above all, we strengthened our feeling of belonging to a great TLIG family. How much love of brothers in Christ! What a certainty that to live a true life in God is the great desire of the Lord for all and each one of us!

How many confirmations that Latin America is the continent of Hope and that the Two Hearts have a mission for the inhabitants of these regions!

Vassula’s teachings were marvelous,the preaching of the priests was spectacular, the Holy Eucharist that Catholics and Orthodox shared together being all ONE and united in Love and Humility transformed us, and the moments of adoration of the Holy Sacrament and the Holy Rosary marked us deeply. It was a new discovery, for many Latin American Catholics: the great spiritual and mystical richness of thecelebrated liturgies of the Orthodox Church. The prayer for the blessing of the water, the prayer for the dead are examplesof the many other rites, prayers and devotions that we shared united, in one spirit of Unity! For the Europeans, it was beautiful to share our great love for our Most Sacred Mother, specially represented by Our Lady of Guadalupe, our cheerful charismatic songs and our dancing according to the Spirit.

The Holy Spirit really poured out during the praises by Fr. Teofilo, and the Rivers of Living Water really ran. As if literally, In one of Vassula’s conferences when she spoke of the Second Pentecost and the action of the Holy Spirit, simultaneously a strong tropical rain started to spread over the place.

The blessings we received were uncountable and the joy of the Lord was complete during the farewell dinner when, as in «new Cana Wedding» we celebrated with the Caribbean music that honored our Lord and our Mother: we sang and praised to God inaugurating a new wake-up of TLIG in our continent.

Finally, in the last Eucharist, one of the celebrating priests shared with us his divine inspiration announcing that all of us should go back to our countries proclaiming this Love Hymn and invite many brothers to join us in order to take ahead the New Evangelization so desired by our Holy Father John Paul II. And the Will of the Lord expressed by Vassula’s mouth announced that the next TLIG Latin American Meeting would be in Mexico in March, 2004, to which we enthusiastically clapped.

May Jesus and Mary bless you and we will meet in Mexico!!!
