Building a Beth Myriam Convent and Temporary Shelter for Children
Beth Myriam Calbayog opened in 2011 and is run by a group of lay religious women called the Apostles of True Life in God. It was later guided by Rev. Father Julio O. Gaddi Jr. in 2012. He is the spiritual director who works together with the Apostles of TLIG, servants of Beth Myriam. They live a consecrated life: an active, contemplative True Life in God spirituality. The Beth Myriam is their apostolate, with Sister Fe as the one most responsible for its endeavors. They serve the people in the area in several ways:
The Beth Myriam is open daily for the street children and other kids, or anyone who comes to the sisters’ house. The sisters travel around the streets to find the needy and do home visits in the neighborhoods and areas further away. They host prayer meetings with meals in several areas, and transmit Sunday mass through the radio. They are in the process of extending their work to include a Beth Myriam Kids’ Spirituality Center in a house surrounded by squatters in Balud for the street children of the city .
Since 2022, they have been supported by the international BM Fund, feeding people of all ages: from infants to the elderly, mostly Christian people, street children, the poor, the homeless, beggars, the mentally ill on the streets, the elderly with no one to take care of them, abused children, the physically ill, persons with mental illness, the jobless, typhoon victims, fire and cohabitation victims, young mothers, pregnant women, and single parents. The recipients impressively comprise fifty-seven prayer groups, all linked to the BM. Each prayer group is responsible for the BM work for their area, and is named: Apostleship of prayer for Christian unity.
The groups’ larger vision is in establish a Beth Myriam Convent. It will be located at Brgy. Solsogon, and when completed, will be occupied by the Apostles of TLIG, with vocations formed through the TLIG Spirituality. It will serve as a temporary shelter for homeless, abandoned kids /street kids, those seeking refuge, persons with manageable depression, and those seeking silence and peace through counseling or a retreat, thus finding God as the only sufficient answer. Its development has started and the building already functions as a temporary shelter for children. Lastly, the volunteers are working to introduce a Mama Mary TLIG Community School.
In honor of Mama Mary, Lord, in Your Will, let us finish this Beth Myriam convent / temporary shelter, through the intercession of St. Joseph. Amen

Feed one child
Every child deserves food. If you cannot feed 100 children, feed just one. With as little as $18 per month, a week’s worth of coffee, you can provide all that a child needs. Think of that. What good you will do to a soul with so little money.
Thank you for your loving interest and care towards feeding the poor and needy.
