Monterrey, located in the northeast of Mexico near the United States border (200km), is the third largest City in Mexico with a population of more than 4 million people.

It has been a long journey but, for the last three years, there have been 5 TLIG prayer Groups worshiping together.

During that time, the Prayer Groups have organized four retreats and 3 TLIG witnessing meetings with Ana Lizarralde from Uruguay, and the doctors Franklin and Carlos from Guadalajara, Mexico and many TLIG readers from cities close to Monterrey.

Starting this year, we realized a need to serve Our Lord Jesus and our Beloved Virgin Mary much more. Inspired by the messages of TLIG, Our Lord lead us to help more people, so we started going to the largest public hospital in the city, offering breakfast to people there. We serve breakfast to around 250 people. We also share prayers and comfort people who have sick relatives in the hospital and the poor people who live in the surrounding neighborhood.

This hospital receives people from all the northeast of Mexico and many are very poor and are in need of Spiritual help during their stay at the clinic. The need is great but our main mission is to give Spiritual Food: we give them Rosaries, Prayer Books and the TLIG messages.

By November we realized that we needed a Place to help all these people. So, on December 15th, we opened Monterrey Beth Myriam with the help of all the Prayer Groups. There is a small kitchen and place to rest in the 60 square meter Beth Myriam, located close to the hospital. Father P. Carlos Cancelado, who has been to several TLIG retreats, blessed the new Beth Myriam.

It was a moment of joy and of a strong presence of the Holy Spirit.

TLIG Prayer Groups Retreat (December 15-16th )

After the blessing at the Beth Myriam, we went to the Convent of “Villa La Paz” to have a two day retreat. There we had around 80 people attending the Retreat where the theme was “God’s Call to Live in Service for Others.”

We did a presentation about TLIG, about Beth Myriams around the world, we read the Messages and also had Holy Mass and Healing service.

We found a lot of people interested in TLIG and it was a good opportunity to distribute the Messages and answer questions

With the success of this retreat, we are now organizing a new retreat for March, 2007. While we plan to read the Messages at this retreat; we also intend to have Dr. Franklin and Dr. Carlos, the 2 doctors from Guadalajara, to share with us again their testimonies and to hear them witness for TLIG.

Finally, to start this year well, we will be getting together in the Beth Myriam each third Saturday of the month, to strengthen and give more of ourselves to our faith and help us spread the message of TLIG.

There is a lot to accomplish, but together with God, The Holy Spirit and our Virgin Mary, every goal is achievable.
