Worldwide Beth Myriam Monthly Information Letter

Gala Ceremony and visit to the School in Kulun, Bangladesh

On the 23rd of February 2025, the Beth Myriams received the Suddhananda Peace Gold Award Medal from the Bangladesh Bouddha Kristi Prachar Sangha at a gala celebration at Dharmarajika Buddhist Monastery in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Theodora and Heidi were invited by the Venerable Buddha Priya Mahathero. The medal was given to them in recognition of the Beth Myriams’ world-wide philanthropic activities. Many of the now 200 children at the Dharmarajika Orphanage that we have supported since 2010 were present at the ceremony, adding to the warm atmosphere in the auditorium. Vassula has received the Peace Gold Award Medal five times since 2003, the latest time in 2019, and thus this tradition continues.

Two days later we visited the TLIG School in Kulun, which we have been supporting since 2000. Kulun is a small village one hour outside of Dhaka in a beautiful rural area. Seventy children attend the school, from nursery up to fifth grade. The teachers and children welcomed us outside the school with wreaths of yellow flowers and flower bouquets. We walked together to the school, where Xavier had planned a programme for us. The children performed dances and songs and they were full of joy and love, which made a deep impression on us.
