A recent prayer meeting
Silvia Evans, [email protected] , sends this report of a recent prayer meeting in the USA:
On September 22, 2001, we held a TLIG prayer meeting in Coleman, Michigan, at Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Monastery. This is an Orthodox monastery where we have held these meetings before. About 20 people attended. This meeting was once again a very ecumenical meeting with one Greek Orthodox man, a Benedictine bishop from the Roman Catholic Orthodox Church, his wife, a Benedictine Orthodox priest whom the bishop just brought from Colombia, three very “angelic” Roman Catholic nuns (who were visiting from Chicago and were wearing very traditional habits), the Orthodox Abbott of the Monastery, three evangelicals, a Lutheran, and several Roman Catholic lay people. The beautiful thing is that the evangelicals fitted right in with all the nuns, priest, bishops, statues, icons, tabernacle, etc. We remarked that they are already part of the United Church, and those who are in Jesus are very accepting of all their brothers and sisters in Christ, and are not offended by those things that are “too Catholic”.
A young man, whom Jesus had brought to a prayer meeting in June, came back. His life has been turned around and he says that he has found so much peace and love reading Vol. 1 of the messages. He wants to keep on coming. Three Lutheran ladies were going to drive 12 hours to come from Wisconsin. They had written to find someone in the US that cared about TLIG, since they are trying to convert but are finding much resistance in their Catholic church. All kinds of bad things happened to them right before the meeting that prevented then from coming. However, I sent them the agenda via Email that morning and asked them to join us spiritually at the same time. The most amazing thing happened!
We started our meeting with invocation of the Holy Spirit, prayers for the conversion of the world, and songs. Then we had a random Bible passage, and the Holy Spirit picked Proverbs 23, we followed that with discussion and the reading of the Sept. 11, 1991 (/msg/vass654.html) message to Vassula, followed by her explanation of that message. People also shared their thoughts and feelings, and trust in God. Then Jerry Zook was inspired to share with the group the message on the “Purification” which happened to be the next one given to Vassula after the Sept. 11 message (/msg/vass655.html). This sharing was spontaneous. That was followed by the reading of a very beautiful message to New York City that was given to Vassula on Feb. 11, 1992 (/msg/vass698.html). This message was one I had picked in preparation for the meeting, and I believe the Holy Spirit let me to find. It is a message of “the night is almost over” which was also a message that the Holy Father delivered in his Wednesday catechesis three days before. Well, the ladies in Wisconsin also had a random Bible reading and the Holy Spirit picked for them Zephaniah 1:14, a reading that is essentially a description of the purification! They communicated this to me the following morning via Email. How wonderful that after all the troubles they had they were still blessed by God when they joined the meeting spiritually!
The three “angelic nuns” (I call them that because of their spiritual beauty) added also a new dimension to the meeting because the Mother superior smelled like roses because she carried some relics from Padre Pio. So we know we had him in our midst, along with Jesus.
The meeting was very “ethereal”, it was uplifting, calm, peaceful, full of love, and the presence of the Holy Spirit was very palpable. Many prayers for the country, the perpetrators of the crimes, and sinners, were offered to God. The message of our great apostasy and how that brings destruction upon the world was very clear. What was also very clear is how Jesus opens His arms for us to embrace Him and love Him and that with Him we will be safe and the world will be safe…..if we just turn to Him in abandonment and love!
