TLIG for all ages

Copied here is part of a letter which Cheri Guillespie sent to a small group of people considering the possibility of publishing an illustrated TLIG book for children (see /forum/forum558.html – Nov. 23, 2002)

Using Vassula’s 27 Witnessing questions and answers ( /27q.html )as the basis of the material to be covered I thought a teaching aid could be set up which could be of use to all people who wished to promote the TLIG messages at whatever age group was required. I have already gone into this in a previous email, so I won’t repeat myself. You see if someone asks me about the messages Vassula has received I say something rather lame like: “Well God is speaking to her and … well, he is talking about unification… and he is warning us to repent… er … why dont you read it? They usually don’t want to read it. I have missed my opportunity because I wasn’t better prepared. I may understand it loosely in my head but I haven’t developed the skills to articulate it well to others. Also if they query some aspect of what I am saying I am usually left floundering because I can’t get my finger on the answer. Jesus has said it is time for others, not only Vassula to evangelise his message, which means we have to understand it and then we need to be able to articulate it.

Vassula has given us the themes in the Witnessing questions and answers. There is a lot to cover, so to avoid the info becoming one big glob you break it down into themes. Then find quotations from scripture and the teachings of the Church, it adds depth and weight to what is being spoken of in the messages. Apologetics is so often required to answer objections. All types of background information comes in handy. This would be the initial step in developing a teaching program/reference. Following that, the next step would be to reach the audience at their level of understanding.

When the enlightenment of our conscience takes place I understand that many who are closed to God now, will become very hungry for him. Are we prepared for this? I know the Holy Spirit will be helping us in what to say and do but does that mean we just sit and wait? Jesus taught the disciples for three years before his crucifixion and ressurrection, then he sent the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. It would seem that a lot of their time was spent in manual training. People who participate will be sharpening their evangelising knowledge and/or adding to other peoples and working together (unity!!)

The different themes are as follows. It is simply running through the 27 witnessing answers point by point:

* Repentance
* dying to ourselves so we may be tranfigured by the Holy Spirit * Intimacy with God and Fear of the Lord

* What our Heavenly Father is like * “You are of royal descent, you are blessed in Our Image”
* The Father asks from us our will… so His Will may be done in us * “To love is to do My Will”

* to “Walk with God” * “go and evangelise with love for Love”
* unceasing prayer
* What True Life in God is
* Prayer of the heart
* “Your God desires equality of love from you”
* To be gods by participation
* We can be divinised or deified while here on earth
* The beauty and joy of being dressed with Christ
* To rule with God means to govern with God
* The Second Pentecost
* The New Heavens and the New Earth
* The greatest treasure of Jesus’ Sacred Heart is the Knowledge of God * How the Holy Spirit will animate us

* “To embrace Me is to embrace My Cross” * “Humility and love are the keys to unity”
* Spiritual unity of the heart
* Our Blessed Mother, Queen of Heaven
* Love is the greatest virtue
* Make peace with God and live holy. (With this point we arrive back at the beginning. Summary is complete)
