to follow My Commandments;
love one another, O children of My Light,

take My Love and let It fill you;

Included is a Pilgrimage to Trier:
Trier (Augusta Treverorum) belonged to the most famous cities of ancient times, in line with Rome, Alexandria and Constantinople due to historical records.The Emperor Constantine the Great and his mother Helena (who found the cross of Jesus) were brought up here. During the 4th century it was the centre of both worldly power and renewal of Christianity in the western part of the Roman Empire. Therefore it was even called ‘Roma secunda’. Some well known Christians lived here or visited Trier: St. Athanasius lived in Trier during one of his numerous exiles. He fought untiringly and courageous against the heresy of Arianism, which was a heretic doctrine aiming against Jesus’ Divine nature.
St. Hieronymus stayed during his studies in Trier when he was young. St. Ambrosius lived here for a while and was probably born in Trier since his father was ‘Praefectus praetorio Galliarum’ who resided in Trier. The ecclesiastical and Christian life of this city seem to have been quite rich and fresh since St. Augustine during his conversion was very touched towards Christian faith hearing a report about the spiritual flourishing of this city and its people’s courage in confessing their faith. Last not least the Greek Eremite St. Simon lived inside the darkest part of the Porta Nigra (roman city gate) and was – on his own wish – even walled in 1028 and died in 1035.
In Trier we will visit a few of the roman buildings (Porta Nigra and Hall of Constantine). But the main target of our programme will be: The tomb of the Apostle Mathias (The only tomb of an Apostle in the North of the Alps) and the shrine with the seamless robe of Jesus (located in the Cathedral).
